Sliding load bed and drawers.

Thought I would show you what I have done in the back of my Kombi. I did some research into load area drawers and sliding load beds and couldn't find anything cost effective or suitable. So decided to make my own. Decision was quite easy as I have my own sheet metal fabrication shop.
The sliding load bed has lockable slides and can carry 250kg's. Still have to put some rubber matting on it yet.
The drawers have 80kg slides and are lockable to prevent them from flying open.
The whole thing bolts to the 4no existing load tie down points and can be removed if required.
Let me know your thoughts.
Carl.

Good work ! Love the ideas. What cost could you make and sell for ? I'm sure there would be a market for your brilliant design.

Thanks. Problem is there is a very fine line between too expensive whilst allowing a decent profit and marketing them cheaper and having to makes lots of them to turn a profit. If you search these kinds of things they cost an arm and a leg. I'm not sure how many people actually buy these.

Similar setup to my kombi. I have sortimo kit it's such a versatile setup. I've kept a space on the passenger side so that I can slide full sheets of materials when needed.

Good work man.

Excellent mate. Looking at a one sided setup to do a roll out kitchen area for my Shuttle.

Looks amazing. I’ve just bought a t6 and this is exactly What I am after. Do
You have any specs for it or drawings to help me create something similar?

HI Kev. Thanks for your comment. I dont have any specs as I just made it to suit when I had a spare weekend last year now.
if you are serious about having one I could attempt to cost it up for you but dont forget metal prices along with everything else have gone through the roof!!
Like I said in my original post I have my own metal fabrication shop. Do you have access to these types of machines?
Let me know your thoughts.

I've bought a van recently from on here, it's got a drawer system. Happy to measure it up for you, it's the same as the OP's fits into the lashing hooks, I'm still 59/59 if I'm keeping it In mine20220904_174345.jpg

Hi, has anyone got experience or advice on whether the slide rails are better with the latch or push to open fitting? Would prefer pusj to open but concerned if I break heavy or accelerate they may come loose / open and swing out. Thanks

Mine is the one a few post up and the red rubber is pushed down on both sides to pull out or push in, I've never had any issues, I've accelerated hard with things in and until reading your post I have never given it a thought about coming out :)
