Sliding Doors And Rear Door Left Open.

Hello. I have a habit of leaving one of the rear doors wide open and going into the house without realising. Is there any way that there can be an audible warning to let you know there's a door open when you lock the doors?
At the moment, it locks as normal but one of the doors can be wide open.
Cheers.

Yeah. Know your pain......

We had the alarm upgrade fitted from "meta systems" (can-bus alarm that works with all the factory kit and works with factory key etc)

Which gives you an audible beep when set/unset.

But also will give you a different boop, boop, boop, if any of the doors are left open or any windows are left ajar.

It's saved my bacon untold times when doors or windows have been left open.

Had the same thing fitted to out T5.1 too.

I'll dig out the model if anyone's interested.

Saying that i did see a listing on carista about audio beeps on alarm setting/unsetting. ....... But haven't tried it yet. (Not sure if it gives you a different deep when doors are adgar like the meta one)

I had the beep on lock setting through Carista a while back. It lasted a day before I turned it off again I was hoping there was another way.

If you set beep on lock in carista, the van will only beep when the alarm sets. If any of the rear doors are open it won’t beep

A massive fail from VW in my opinion. . .

Why would they have a factory alarm that doesn't tell you if a doors been left open! Crazy.. But at least the aftermarket alarm picks up where the VW let's us all down.

In comparison our MY04 BMW flashes the indicators when setting the alarm (no beep)........ but if a door or window is open you have no indicator flash..... So you have to pay attention,! But at least it does it.

The meta upgrade with the beeps enabled is something I got used too very quickly and now it's second nature........ when you get the boops instead of beeps it's blaintantly obvious........ a window or door has been left open.

Works perfect for me and just what I needed... leaving a door or window open on the van was just NOT an option.

At least at night you can see the interior lights are still on when you’ve locked up and that tells you a door isn’t closed

Unfortunately, I do it through the day when I'm in and out of houses doing jobs. Just a few quids worth of tools in the back. I've been lucky so far, God knows how!
