I’d say that’s air bubbles from the fibreglass. We’ve had a very hot summer, and the roof may have been in direct sunlight. That said, your guarantee should cover it.

Thats what they look like but are just flaking off when touched, I think the paint is sil covered for another 6 months.

Could it possibly be the start of micro blistering?
I had it happen on a car many, many years ago.
more info here:

Yes mine did this last year as well hundreds of bubbles all over roof took it back my converter and he showed a video of the bubbles to skyline and they said it was down to the paint reacting to the fiberglass
they said they would re paint it under warranty but it had to go up to Swindon to them to be worked on
i refused to let them have my pride and joy for what they said could be up to a month
after many emails from both myself and my converter (Martin at wambam ) they agreed to cover the cost for my converter to get the work done at his workshop so it was done again at skylines cost in full
I also heard don’t know how true it is but during COVID lockdown when everyone wanted a conversion the demands for pop top roof went sorry for the pun THROUGH THE ROOF so many were shall we say not given the quality of finish as before including mine hope you get it all sorted as I did GOOD LUCK

I had this exact problem with my Skyline Aurora roof. It happened roughly 9/10 months after installation. To be fair to Skyline I sent them 1 email with pictures showing the defects in the paintwork and they rectified the issue within 2/3 weeks. They had to sub the respray out to another firm as the van wouldn’t fit into their spray booth / oven but the company they subbed the paintwork out to did a fantastic job (I can’t remember the companies name now though), the guy had even removed my fuel filler cap and resprayed as it had marks on it and he also touched in some stone chips around the van all free of charge. I guess he just charges skyline for his time! He had mentioned that typically it’s moisture in the spray gun lines that causes this to happen.

Give Skyline a shout I’m sure they’ll sort this for you.

Hi all , just a update spoke to the conversion company who fitted it and just passed me on to skyline and booked in with them to have a few days in March to repaint the roof and supplying a courtesy vehicle ,bit off a drag though to Somerset from manchester.

Would Skyline North at Chester-le -Street not be slightly closer ?

Ye it's a bit closer bit seem to want me to go to Somerset, do they do the painting up their

It can affect any GRP roof regardless of paint prep‘ and application. You can obviously re-paint but there’s no guarantee that it won’t happen again.
The paint seems to have a 2 year ‘industry standard’ warranty.
