Sim Slot And Car Play

Specced my new T6 without satnav or car play

1. Is it possible to install satnav via the SIM slot (my brother did this in his C class with a card costing about £30)
2. It is possible to activate apple car play. ie is it installed on all vehicles but 'dormant'. Could then use google maps as satnav

Not critical but would be nice to know before buying new satnav

You can get car play activated. Cost is around £250 and it has to be done by VW dealer.

ETA - mine is the basic radio with 3 buttons either side of the tiny screen - suspect mine won't have car play

It won't, but have a look at this as a very cost-effective alternative Rcd330+
