Short shafts / rebuild…

Right… can of worms I feel I am going to
Open with peoples opinions on the matter..

But.

I wanna run SOLOW lows pretty much as low as they can go but don’t want to run into shaft rumble from the binding of the shaft into the gear box.

The THQ shortened shafts have been sold
Out for ever … seems a common theme
On their site..

Question is..

Does anyone have the amount the shafts are shorter? Driver side especially.

I have the ability and a shaft manufacture who can produce a blank to Get this done and rebuilding a CV shaft is no biggy… it’s just Circlips and grease rings.

Please don’t turn this into an argument about vans shouldn’t be that low. Just need some facts..

Peace.

Easiest way is a subframe raise. Ask on the the Lowdown page on Facebook mate.....all running low on there

I would try and run the height you want first. You maybe ok as not all suffer the judder.....mine never has and even at my low ride height i don't get it.

Cheers for this dude .. I’m going to go for it anyways . Are you on a 5 speed box as heard they suffer the worst.

Mine is a T6 but you can always drop it and see. Any issues raises it back up but 100% subframe raise will sort it .....it's about £850 i think for a 6.1

Cheers dude !

I have found a company that can make shaft sections for me. For £450 and I can rebuild a shaft very easily.

So tempted to just go for it . Just go 20-30mm shorter and send it
