Service Batteries Discharged

... we try to help a friend who owns a T5 ... he has replaced both the batteries of his Ocean services in 2006, but they have unloaded for no reason ... maybe you have to check the grounding?
... by connecting an external cable to the negative of the engine battery to the negative of one of the service batteries, you see a small spark .. is there a leak? .. see if anyone knows more ....

2006 . . . . so those batteries are 12 years old!

I doubt they would hold much charge in 2018.

i would do a battery test first.

... maybe I explained myself bad .. the batteries are new! ... only that they are depleated for no reason (no use of the fridge, heating etc ....) ...

oh ok. . . . . i see.

you need to use a multi-meter to measure any current draw from the service batteries. (in current mode metering out Amps)

with everything switched off and engine not running you should have no current flow = 0Amps.

if you have some current flow (ie 0.03A>) start disconnecting circuits or remove fuses from the service battery loads until you find where the power is going.

you may have something that is switched on 24/7 and draining the batteries.

..... what are the services that may remain unintentionally under voltage? .... which are served by batteries services on the Ocean ... refrigerator, water pump, additional heating, interior lights.. roof lifting pump ... then ?

Maybe usb sockets, dash Camera, speed trap detector.... or anything else 3rd party that has been fitted?

Have you had a chance to meter out the mAmps flow yet?

.... yesterday we put the batteries on charge, then we started to check everything, I'll keep you informed ... thanks

Also check that the split charge relay is open circuit and not welded closed.
