Self-convert or buy a camper?

Hi
Some advice if possible please, is it better to buy a T6 van and get it converted by a conversion company to my exact specs or buy one already done. I’ve done some back of fag packet calculations and reckon maybe 20-22k for a 2018 van and 15-16k for a conversion as opposed to maybe 43-45k already done, any advice for a newbie would be really helpful.
Thanks
Gary

I think you’ve answered your own question with the maths, Gary.
Buying a van that’s already converted will give you immediate use, whilst self-converting can take months to years, depending on cash-flow, availability of the right van, waiting times with converters etc.
The difference being that only you can choose the spec you want.

We just bought a van on 31st August (70 plate 150 DSG highline with 6k miles) went to see Madmatz in Kettering last Saturday and our van will be converted by 6th November to our exact specification. Depending on your requirements do keep in mind that prices have up though so your £15-£16k conversion budget might not get you everything you want. So I would say buy a van and convert it. I also highly recommend Madmatz. Great guys, been converting vans for years so know their stuff.
