Screen issues and replacement help guides

plugged in my Samsung mobile phone into USB port using a genuine VW cable (van is 2022 T6.1) and the screen developed vertical lines on a dark background but still ha sound from radio.
tried a soft reset by holding down on/off button for 30 secs and then a hard reset for 30 mins with battery disconnected but no joy.
anything I have missed ?
guessing its a common fault requiring a screen ?
any other thoughts or help gratefully sought

I did mine recently using a post from here (I will try dig it out), took 30 mins max, and was simple enough. Need to be fairly confident taking stuff apart but it’s nothing more complicated then undoing screws.
