S+S Van Awning One

I like the concept of the Stitches and Steel Van Awning One: side mounted on a rail or a barn door awning, perfect for us and our needs and that versatility sounds great. So I bought one

On the basis that it's better to have tried these things in advance of needing them, I messed about with it over the barn doors this morning.

Having watched the S+S product YouTube video and looked at all the photos I was confident at sorting it quickly. However I am not liking the lack of a simple and quick means of throwing in on the back and lashing it into place.

I can't be the first to have come to this conclusion and so I'm looking for any solutions people have come up with that probably involved clips, elastic bungee rope and hooks that speeds up the process of getting the kador rope section in place around the door seal on the back of the roof and hooked onto the van - around the bottom hinges or other ingenious location.

Lashing it with the guy ropes just takes too long. I'm imagining coming back to the van after an all-dayer ride and being a bit knackered and not in the mood for dicking about (in the inevitable wind and rain) and will quickly bugger up the paint work (I could use some PPF to solve that but.....)

So drawing on the collective wisdom and experience of the forum for suggestions and solutions
