Rib bed in the front?

I just got myself a 2019 LWB Kombi, and the idea is to use it for work (tradesman) and the odd campering trip. Has anyone fitted a rib bed where the second row of seats are, so that it folds out kinda in the middle of the van? Bit of a strange one, but I need the back load area to stay as a works van, and the front to be a 5-seater and a bed. I'm guessing I'll have to install a top-half bulkhead as well, as the bed will no doubt open out into at least some of the load area.

TIA

welcome to the t6 club bob...

Not sure if anyone has fitted a fixed rib in the place you mention.

Have you looked at the flux sliding RIB system..?

Maybe this might be one solution.. can be slid forward for larger space in the back...

Anything is possilbe if you have the time and money. but if your trying to find an 'already done, fit in tomorrow' sort of solution to what i percieve your trying to acheive, it doesnt exist.

(the ribs are a lot taller as well, and if you were to just fit one in the front, it would need to go on the raised box that contains some of the electrics for the vehicle and you would be looking at having to get it vosa checked to be suitable for frontal impact an airbag. im sure the rules around safety and airbags are probably why this hasnt alreayd been tried.

Just had a look at this Jason, looks pretty ideal for what I want! Gives me the versatility to do anything then. Guessing it’s going to be expensive, but then anything good usually is!
Thanks!

Indeed this is true Tim! I know it’s going be a long road (excuse the pun) to get it to what I want, and an expensive one... :)

Uberbus Flux do one as well...

Not sure on prices, but not much cheap in the world of the T6

I found these pictures somewhat interesting, as you were implying about fold down front seats..

To my mind, you could put the double seat behind the driver on the passenger side and potentially make a fold down area..?

Not Sure if your feet will be hanging off the end (I'm sure a cheap knock up with some plywood and legs might solve the length issue) but all these seats in this picture look like genuine.. might be worth looking into anchor options with the double seat for the cab and a rear double for the rear with a single next to it (looks like a shuttle in the pics)

I imagine its just seats that have a lever back adjuster rather than a dial that do it.

Came across this couple weeks ago as well.
Now I've watched ths video, I'm genuinely impressed by it. Makes good work for a kombi work van for sure.
Certainly will be keeping a tab for it..

Diddnt cross my mind though to mention it - sunk to the back of my mind in a deep abyss so, thanks for re enlightening me :)

Try Clearcut Conversions. They do a sliding rib bed, you can have it in the kombi position for work and slide it back for camping. Mines being fitted next week.

Anyone know how to get hold of Clearcut Conversions ?
I want to check something before i buy and they have not picked up the phone or emails for 4 days.

Perseverance Mike, I kept calling last week and got through eventually. Don't hold your breath if they say they will call you back though.
That said, they fitted my Glide motion bed last October and made a lovely job of it

We’re looking at the Glidemotion Sliding Rail System with Upholstered YoYo Seat from Clearcut Conversions. We’ve dropped our van off at Big V Kampers today to get a Skyline Aurora roof and leisure electrics fitted. We’d asked them to quote for fitting the floor and bed but they’ve not been able to get hold of Clearcut all week to ask about it and work out a quote.
Has anyone here got the Clearcut YoYo bed and glidemotion floor?? Would love to know what you think of it. Thanks
