Retro fitting Adaptive cruise ?

Afternoon all,

So I always thought I might have had Adaptive cruise control on my T6 and I've just never used it, but after recently using it on the wifes 6.1 which does have it, I soon realised I don't and how good it is.

My T6 has the radar, but when I bought it didnt have buttons on the steering wheel ( has since had an upgrade to the round airbag GTI wheel a few years back ), but my cruise control is on the stalk.

Is mine able to be retro fitted with the Adpative ? Since I've got a radar etc and cruise on stalk anyway ? Would it be a matter of just buying a newer steering wheel and coding it in ?

Assuming that you have standard Cruise Control via MFSW buttons and your engine is EURO6 then you would need to do the following:

1. Replace your radar SWAP code(or replace the whole radar).
2. Replace your MFSW buttons with the ACC variant.
3. Adjust your ECU and ABS coding.
4. Enjoy ACC.

Wasn't cheap. MFSW off eBay was 250. Then it needed swapping over, wiring loom and coding, so a fair bit more than that. Worth it for me though.

Who did it for you? Love my van but regret not getting Cruise control. Trying to find someone who can do the upgrade for me. Ta.

So just back from @Dav-Tec who fitted a nice new MFSW and reprogrammed my van to have cruise control. Really what can I say? A fabulous service and such nice people. Just dropped the van off, went for a coffee and came back after a couple of hours to find all the work done. Cruise control, audio control and display control all on the steering wheel. now. Drove, or should I say cruised, back to Scotland without a problem. It has really transformed my van from a driving perspective. Chris also identified a couple of other issues I have to look at on the van and was really helpful with some advice.

At least 6 out of 5 stars for service, communciation, reliability and cost. Thank you so much.

I wonder if anyone can help
I have a t6 transporter 2018 and it has cruise control with steering wheel switches the van aso has front assist and radar fitted.
I changed the steering wheel buttons to include the ACC button.
How do I enable the coding on the van so the ACC will work.
Is it something I can do myself.
