I have had an engine failure on my T6 2017 TDI 150HP CXHA, My mechanic tracked down a replacement engine from a T6.1 2021 TDI 150HP CHXA+. Can this engine be put into the T6 without too much work?
Regards Jan

I dont know the answer to the question for sure, I may be corrected but my guess is it wont be that easy. The T6.1 is based on the MQB platform, while the T6, uses the PQ25 platform.
I’ve recently bought my first Transporter and quickly found myself waist deep in a project. The Transporter in question is a 2017 ex-RAC SWB T32 (with 2017 2.0 tdi CXH engine), which I bought from a car auction site as a non-runner; upon delivery I found several holes in the side of the block and sump.
I therefore needed to swap the engine and reviewing engine codes, thought I’d be able to do a straight swap for a replacement 2020 2.0 tdi CXH engine with just 30K miles. However, during the process I’ve found a few key differences and could do with some advice.
