Removing Passenger Seat

I need to remove my front passenger seat and leave it with the trimmers. Reviewing other threads it seems that will create an airbag error.

Is there a way round this and if not does create any issues driving the van until I replace the seat.

Thank you.

There is a resistor bypass trick.

But it might be safer just getting Carista and clearing the airbag code after yourself.

Thank you. That had occurred to me. Once I have used Carista to turn the fault off, will it remain off? It might be a week or so until the seat is reinstalled.

driving with the seat out is not a problem.

driving with the airbag light on is not a problem. (its just telling you that it cant see the passenger airbag)

the other airbags will work fine.

so just get your seats sorted and clear the codes after.

FYI - if you clear the codes with the seat out/disconnected the code be flagged again straight away.

I removed my front seats the other week to do a job. Both seats have curtain airbags. Took them out, replaced them, no faults, lights or codes when I replaced them.

You will only set a code if the ignition is switched on when the airbags are disconnected.

doing the whole job while the van is switched off shouldn't be an issue.

Yep, no fault is logged until the ignition is switched on and all of the circuits are checked.

"I don't belieeeeve it"
Whilst out and about yesterday, my passenger seat began to sing along with with every move, I looked up squeaky, creaky swivel, decided I'd got the Jennings Sportcraft fitted from the look of it.
Decided to take both seats out and so some lube and tweak but decided to ask first about code issues, (little knowledge...)
Got home tonight, logged on and hey ho, in new posts, this thread pops up!
Thanks, Spooky!
