Remapping software Concern

No a normal service will not affect it at all. If however there is a “software update” and they apply it then it would. I don’t worry about it as I don’t use VWCV centre for my servicing, but a top notch independent specialist. I ask for a service that is what they do, to the book, no bullsh1t3 software updates, which lets be honest are never for the good of the owner - just yet more power turn-downs to get over yet more VW scandals.
Do we know if there are any software updates that vw are applying to the T6s? I'll avoid dealer servicing if so!

They can still tell even if its been flashed back. There is a counter in the software.

But this isn’t enough. Every time the vehicle is flashed the software counter goes up, even with factory softaware and independents have the power to flash software updates too.

We’ve yet to have a warranty claim denied on a vehicle that has been flashed back to standard. We’ve even had a engine replaced due to an EGR failure that was mapped but flashed back.

We always recommend flashing back on every dealer visit, up to a week before so all standard parameters are re-learnt.

how to tell if the map has been removed (obviously you would feel when driving) but is there a way to check if the map has been reflashed? i just dont trust the dealer to tell me

Just wondered if there was anything to do at home to check, can it be seen in vcds etc by looking at a certain section?
