Hi all.

I have a 2018 T6 with 90k miles. I am not having any glow plug issues. But thinking should I get them replaced at the next service?

I just had mine done on a 2017 T30 150 with 90k.

I had a orange MIL light with a code for one of the glow plugs.

I had the plugs swapped at a local indy (all4) and then fitted a new battery too.

What a difference it made, ... Spins over and fires super quick compared to before.... And also the stop/start started working again.

So looks like both jobs were well over due on that van.

Since then I've swapped the battery on the other van...... Didn't bother doing the plugs as I had a new cxeb long block engine, so assuming I had new ones with that. (But you never know if they are or not)

They are prone to snapping. I did the 3 cheap ones on mine (#2 faulty at 40k miles) and they came out fine. I left the pressure sensing plug alone as these are quite expensive.

Just mentioning in case the garage have a problem that might not be caused by hamfistedness!

Im not having issues as such but my mechanic noted mine was a little slower to turn over when starting. He recommended getting them done before there are issues, and to hopefully catch them before they weld themselves in. Im booked in next week.

@Dellmassive Ahh perfect. I don’t suppose you know which brand you had them replaced with. Or did you go VW OEM?

I went for Bosch. Garage have suggested just replacing three. As fourth one has an air sensor and it is prone to breaking off.
