Rear Seats In Kombi

Ready to move from my T5 to a T6 but finding that most(?) appear to have fixed rear benches in advert pictures.

Does the T6 even in Highline spec only come with the fixed rear bench as I have been used to the usefulness of the 2+1 option.

Thanks

Hi @Crux, it is purely dependant upon how the original purchaser specced it. 2+1, 1+2, and 3x1 are all available, so if you don’t want the 1x3 bench then there is hope for you, you may just need to look further afield.
You do have another option though so no need to despair. Buy a van with a bench and then swap the seating out. Plenty of forum members advertise their 2+1 etc on the for sale page on here, after fitting rib beds or converting to a Caravelle floor and seating system. You’ll also find them on eBay.
Then it is just a case of getting someone like Colin @VWVC to fit the additional brackets and floor strengthening pieces for you, as he can certificate the install for insurance purposes.

Now comes the query about sliding door location. Having had a twin slider 5.1 there seem few T6 twins in my affordability band.

Moreover most I have seen have the door on the left (passenger) side, same location as the folding seat in the 2+1 config.

It would concern me that if I had a longer load, let's say bikes that if I would need to tilt forward the +1 seat or even remove.

Either way I could be blocking that entrance space.

I guess the left hand side preference comes from suitability for kerb side drops.

Can anyone comment on the practicality of the 2+1 with the left hand side slider?

Many thanks
