I am generally the same until the weather gets too hot and the glue melts
I had one come off the car last year and the van this year

What tape was that?

I've always used 3m VHB for everything and have a 3m surface prep bottle and never had any problems, the carbon rear spoiler lip of my M3 has been on for 12yrs with just double sided tape
