Rear lights and interior lights

Hi everyone! I have a t6 that I'm hoping to convert to a camper :) When I took the roof lining off I seem to have done something to the lights as the interior light in the back came off and now the cab interior light doesn't work and my rear lights don't work although the rear brake lights work. Any advice would be appreciated :)

Sounds like you have blown a fuse ,was the light that had fallen out , on at the time and then all the lights switched off ? I would check fuses in the center console ,Al try and find a link for how to open it but it's just a cover under the gear stick location unless you have comfort dash

I presume you’ve checked the fuses? I know the wiring in the floor near the handbrake is for the rear lights. If that been disturbed, it would be worth checking aswell.

I did the same and it was one of the fuses under the dash. If I remember correctly it was a blue 15A fuse. Try the blue fuses first, it will save a lot of time.

If you’ve blown the interior light fuse on a T6 it’s not a 15a blue fuse, it’s a 7.5a one. As per the photo below.

I did exactly the same 2 weeks ago when removing my roof panel.
The light fitting came apart at the grey connecting block and shorted as the light got trapped the wrong side of the panel as it came off.
I unclipped the wiring correctly from the small black connector and then refitted the copper prongs on the grey block by using the other light as a template.
Only when this was done did I reconnect the cable and refit the fuse to avoid shorting it again.

Hi Guys i have the same issue Tail lights and interior light out had the dash aprt to check all the fuses and they are all good, i did hear a little pop so assumed it was a fuse but after checking them all i still have no tail lights. Any other ideas would be a great help on where to look.

Done any work recently? It’s almost always the fuse noted above

Hello Deaky

Yep i was adding a interiour light to my step by the side loading door and i grounded the live i did hear a pop and thout it was a fuse so i have checked them all and they are all good no missing slots with out fuses either.

Check the continuity of the fuse, don’t rely on a visual. Make sure it’s in the right slot too.
