Re-classification after conversion

I’m not applying for a campervan change, but need to inform the DVLA that I have a ‘van with windows’ and the seating capacity has changed, (3 to 5).

The V5 provides the option to increase seating capacity, but there’s no option to ‘add windows’.
Is this a requirement? Is just changing the seating capacity enough?

Next on my list is insurance

I think you you apply for motor home status and also seat increase supplying photos of the inside and outside then they will reclassify it as they see fit...

I don't think you can just apply for van with windows classification.. I've not seen that option from the DVLA

Cheers Jason, I changed the number of seats to 5 and added a covering latter with photo’s.

What is the purpose of reclassification? Increased speed limits? Different VED?

My van was built as a 9 seat window van so already has a WV2 vin number and M1 vehicle classification.

We plan to convert to camper at some point so wondered if I need to apply to DVLA to change anything?
