Protect scratching floor ribs

Hi everybody,


I wonder is there is a way to avoid scratching the floor by plywood? Would it be a good idea to put some rubber EPDM tape on all of them, jus on the top surface of the ribs (tips)? And then just put the plywood.

I would like to avoid any insulation of the floor because I'm afraid of any water that may go under the floor and eventually be trapped there..

The usual route is soundproofing and insulation first then ply .
Ours is silent coated , then has a layer of underfloor insulation on top of that .

I used Dodo Deadmat Duo which has sound deadening and insulation........ you should not get any water/moisture inside the van.

I wonder what if I glue on the tips of ribs (or even on the ply wood, opposite to the ribs) 3 mm or ruber tape? This should prevent tearing metal-plywood, scratches, sounds. And additionally I will fix the plywood floor on leashing points.

I have read tons of different conversions.. Where people glue the additional wooden ribs and put XPS in between. But I'm a bit worrying that in has to be very good insulated against vapor. And I'm not sure if just the aluminium tape would be enough because if can be teared during the plywood vibrations and so on. + then the functionality of the floor ribs is broken. They are there to make a gap between plywood and the floor, to make the floor breath..

That's why I came to the conclusion that better to avoid any floor insulation and let it breath. And be able to inspect it.

Anyway, this is my first van. And I just want to understand maybe no insulation will work for me as well. I had a lot of experience on sleeping in the car (combi). I always open my windows a little bit. And sleep in the sleeping bag. + now I have an auxiliary heater
