Possible fried battery

The 200w solar panel I have on the roof has been working nicely to keep both batteries in a good state of charge parked out in the street, even on dull days. However all this sun and particularly the extreme heat that’s forecast has made me anxious. Is it safer to completely disconnect the solar and allow the battery s.o.c to drop again. Switching it back on again when we return to normal English weather.

Having lived in Spain since 2006 and owned firstly a motorhome and now a VW T6 camper I have never had a problem with battery. The solar system will shut off when battery/batteries are full, so battery will be fine. Currently, sitting here in 39C outside and 43C in the shade (what there is of it) inside van!!!!! and everything fine. Enjoy the UK weather.

Thanks @Qnapper. Maybe I don't need to keep checking out the window for any smoke coming from the van. As it happens I don't enjoy the hot weather. Your van sounds a torture chamber! o_O
