Poptop query

I don't use my poptop much but I've noticed that it's not as tidy as lots of others I've seen, as if it should be stretched tighter? Could be the relative lack of use I suppose but I'm wondering if maybe it isn't fitted properly.

I think it's an Austops, that's the branding on the straps anyway.

Anyone have any ideas?

It does look a bit saggy.
What I notice is the bungee that pulls the fabric in to stop it getting trapped in the rear hinges is in the wrong position.
It should run along about a foot up at the front. So it needs pulled up.
This might possibly tighten the rest of the fabric.
Pull it up and see mate.

The bottom edge at the front seems very taught to me.

The other thought I had is that with my bed the gas struts often need a bit of extra push - they drive themselves up to an initial limit but there is maybe another inch or so where I need to shove the bed up. Maybe this is happening with your top due to lack of regular use?

Are your internal straps tensioned? Mine can look like that if my poptop isn't allowed to rise to its maximum height, ie no tension in the straps...

Do you know what it is made out of?

Certain materials you can deliberately shrink by getting it wet and leaving out on a sunny day with the top up.

IMG_5268.jpegThis is our austops roof with the bed up and no tension on the straps. We have an elastic strap round which I keep in the middle at the back but at the bottom at the front (to avoid messing with the front closing and the window). It’s all stretched taught by the struts at the side. It’s 5 years old btw

I'm thinking you've just had @Sasquatch in to iron that poptop, it's perfectly flat 'n smooth!
