Pop top roof recommendations in south west

Hi all

Only joined recently, I have got my first VW ever, it is a T6 Highline Kombi and I am very happy with it, looking to get it converted over then next few months.

First job I am looking to get done is the pop top, have had a few quotes and have found skyline roofs in Weston super Mare www.skylineroofs.co.uk to be very reasonable and can do it sooner than most, some people are quoting me Jan 2018

Has anyone used these guys? or can anyone suggest any other fitters

I think the best fitters in the South West are Slide-pods of Newton Abbott. If you're new to it all try and remember that it's always worth waiting if you want a good job done. The busy fitters are worth the wait, and besides, I don't think January 2018 is too unreasonable.

I used Autohaus in Minehead for my conversion, they fitted an SCA roof which I am very pleased with. Not sure if they will do just the roof but worth a call to them. Good quality work and as @DPS says above it’s worth waiting for a good fitter.

They are at the NEC this week and weekend if you are able to get up to Birmingham for the caravan and motor home show. In fact probably a good place to see the different roofs in action if several manufacturers are there. Not looked at the exhibitors list though.

A piece of advice that was given to me that I think is true is spend as much as you can justify on the roof. It’s got to last the length of time you plan to keep the van as it will be difficult to change later. I plan to keep my van for 10+ years so we got the best available at the time which was an SCA.

Can't be faulted at all
Great Customer service they gave us around a timescale issue
Operation of pop top simple once you had it up and down a few times
Decent Colour choice of canvas too although I guess many offer that too

I contacted them yesterday, they have stopped fitting them as they have now gone into manufacturing Aluminium Composite for T6 Campers.
They told me to contact Kernow Campers, nr Penzance who are now fitting California Authentic roofs.

Worth looking up KernowTransporters as well. They supply most of the converters in the country with authentic California parts.

My sky line was fitted by vanhaus, but my mate had his fitted by skyline and it looked a good job. Put it this way, it holds the weight on top fine and if I sell my van then I'll fit the same roof again.
