Pop Top Leaking from Vent Stiching

Hi Everyone, just back from a weekend in Arran and it was beautiful but wet!

Our pop top clearly needs reproofed, but I’ve noticed that there was also water coming through the tape on the inner side of the air vents in the pop top. The tape is stitched in so can’t be replaced.

Any suggestions how to stop water coming through the stitching?

Thanks!

Mask it off and then a fine smear of good quality clear silicone sealant, making sure to rub it in well with your finger to get it into the stiching.

Absolutely, I have no link to the seller other than I have been buying his product for years.
Diver Dave is a well known waders repairman and also sells waders for fishing.
I know a lot of people who send their waders to him after every season to re proof them.
His repel works well but gives fabric a waterproof coating but is not a sealant.
What I would use instead of silicone is aquasure or stormsure wader repair. It’s for tents inflatables and wader repair.
It’s an incredibly strong clear sealant that cures to this mega tough rubber coat.
Fisherman use it to get another season or 2 out of their waders and boots.
