Pop-Top Infill Panel

I just had a pop top fitted and asked for a removable panel to be fitted. This is so I can do the electrics at my leisure. I’d planned on lining this panel but didn’t really think it through. I think the fitter thought I’d be lining the black part of the pop top and the panel together once the wiring had been done. I’d prefer just to do the panel but I need a way of refitting it once lined as it’s screwed up. Any clever ways of doing this or elegant solutions for the screws. Don’t mind them being visible really but need something nicer than those plastic caps. Maybe something like torx screws with matching screw caps.
Cheers
James

Could you cover the panel and leave small slits which can be stuck down when screwing finished. If using Carpet they wouldn’t show.

I've got the same dilemma. I'm considering using hidden trim clips on the outboard side using existing head lining holes in the van. And velcro for the inboard side.

Not sure if it'll be strong enough. If it isn't then back to the drawing board.

Have you made any further progress with yours?

Get some hole punches, stick the carpet to the board then immediately use around an inch diameter hole punch to cut a hole around each screw head in the carpet (rotate the punch while pressing to cut the carpet cleanly rather than hitting with a hammer), remove the circles then fit the board and pop the carpet circles back in before the glue dries or add a little more to the board with a qtip before pressing the circles into place.
