A faulty switch can cause flickering.If you're comfortable with basic electrical work, you can try replacing the switch to see if that resolves the problem

Is the light one of the older neon glowing gas type? Those can flicker if a small amount of charge leaks enough to strike the lamp (around 90v)

I assume this is on more than one hookup and you've tried a different lead? As well as any switches that @ScottKnott notes it could be a developing fault in those.
