Please don’t be ripped off like I was with seats

...he was quite aggressive and wouldn’t listen to how poor the quality was.
Im 6'5", 20 stone and my nickname since the Army is Sasquatch, and for some strange reason these muppets never get aggressive with me.

He then took the front seat back out and refused to give it me back until I paid in full.
Id have shoved it up his arse and marched him up the road like a lollipop until the apologised.

I'm sure they can be cleaned up and the frames repainted, but it's time and money you shouldn't have to spend.

As above - hopefully you paid with a credit card. Even with a debit card you might get somewhere with a charge back on the basis of those images, albeit its a long winded process.

Good luck.

I don’t understand why when you went to pick your van up, you even drove away without having a discussion about your disappointment. And you must have had a balance to pay on collection before taking the van in which case why did you pay. That’s almost like saying you’re happy. I really hope you get it sorted and you can speak to them.

Please read Google reviews before you purchase expensive seats for your conversions.

I purchased a full set from

“A C Autotrimmers Ltd” South Wales, sadly the Pictures say a thousand words. Mouldy seat belts, broken seatbelt clips, rusty seats, rips in the fabric, glue all over the faux leather, absolutely awful.

The seat he took out of my van was like new.

Don’t spend your hard earned money on this type of workmanship, it’s heartbreaking

Unfortunately some people think that’s normal/acceptable. They should have been cleaned as an absolute minimum.

Sad that a business can treat customers like that, obviously customer satisfaction wasn't a concern for them, when it should be their priority.
Cant believe that they would do a like for like exchange and give you a base and belt in that condition, it's not hard to clean and paint a used one to a satisfactory condition, and the excess glue is just shoddy, no pride in their work by the looks of it, totally unacceptable imo

I would have wanted a viewing or at least photos of the unit to be installed before agreeing to the transaction.
Sad but not unheard of for garages / auto businesses to switch components ‘without permission’.
Take your vehicle for an oil change service and get a free DPF / wheel change at the same time!

I had a B5.5 Passat V6 TDI. On holiday towing the caravan (not towing at the time) it popped a power steering pipe off, so I had little option but to limp to the nearest VW dealership. When I got the car back I didn't think I'd need to check under the bonnet, but back at home I noticed that the cover over the air intake pipe was missing and the mint engine cover had been swapped for a scratched and battered one. They replaced the intake cover, but would not hold their hands up to whatever had happened to my engine cover, despite me sending before and after photos.

Theft from motor vehicle. If you have evidence the dibble would have at that.

Thank you for you’re kind words

Don’t want to be discriminated against you but are you a woman?
Your name mrscpc seems to state that?
For £2.5k I’d want to be happy with what i purchased but you seem not to be.
Don’t apologies to us on the T6 forum. Let us know how you exactly feel on your purchase for us to help you further.
If I was you I’d mention your post on the T6 forum to show why you’re not happy to hopefully get a quick solution.
Let us know how you get on.

I don't think your comment is discriminatory at all.
Too many times my daughters phoned me from garages and tyre depots, asking me to attend when they felt like they were having the wool pulled.
Almost every time they were about to be scammed.
The automotive industry is totally rife with corruption mainly aimed at women and men who aren't assertive or knowledgeable. Of course, there are many garages that are totally ethical and honest, but too many aren't.

In April Daughter 3 got a recall on her BMW for an EGR fault - the dealer wanted to replace the EGR and cooler free of charge.
Great.
When she picked it up later they tried to charge her £350 for a service that they said was overdue.
She told them that I'd already serviced it, they insisted that they'd done it and she had to pay £350 for a service that she didn't ask for or need. She wisely phoned me.
I spoke to the chap and told him a few facts that weren't up for negotiation, including I'd be there in 20 minutes, we weren't paying and we were taking the car home.
He agreed with me, right decision.
We shouldn't need to do this!

My daughter and young grandson who live in the East Grinstead area, have been ripped off on several occasions with service and maintenance work done by a variety of local garages, including a main dealer. On one occasion, new spark plugs, air filter and pollen filter were charged for but clearly hadn’t been changed. The air box and top cover had clearly never been removed in the workshop as they still had an even coating of road dust over them. When queried, one my daughter was accused of having put the old ones in after it had left their premises.

I was appalled by what they’ve experienced so suggested they buy a UV marker pen and UV torch and they now mark service components like undertray screws, oil filter housings, spark plugs, drain plugs, brake fluid reservoir caps, etc. with UV ink before a service. They also brim the washer fluid and put tape over the cap with the date and time checked on it before they drive to the garage. They will now look under the bonnet and query anything they feel unsure about before they leave the workshop premises.

I’ve been doing it myself for a few years now. It’s surprising what appears on invoices yet clearly doesn’t get done or supplied. The practice of charging for services, work done or parts supplied that hasn’t been carried out or delivered is fraud, plain and simple and needs to be called out as such.

Why the washer fluid thing?
