Plastic Battery Cover On T6

I bought a plastic T5/5.1 battery cover. It doesn't fit exactly but it's close. I cut off the tab (as suggested in other posts) where the red arrow is but I couldn't find any photos of one fitted to a T6. Also the poppers that go into the slam panel doesn't come with it so I had to improvise with two clips that I had to make something that the two screws will screw into. As you can see there's a gap where it doesn't align exactly with the existing plastic on the slam panel. The screws do align though.

Here’s mine fitted.

Also bought a job lot of the screws and correct fixings off eBay.

Looking good. Yours looks aligned.

Funnily enough I fitted mine two days ago.

Thanks for the photos guys, as none seem to fit the same. My holes were way off, so ended up drilling another near the wing so it would sit down comfortably rather than me forcing it in any direction. So I need to fill in the old hole.

I did notice though that on that wing side, the bonnet, when shut, seemed ever so slightly raised (ie shut line was larger at front edge than the other side) as if this new plastic cover was forcing it up.

I'm waiting for a dry day, hopefully tomorrow and I'll trim that edge as described above to see if it drops a tad bit.

Cheers Ali

There is a rubber bung on the bonnet underside that can be wound in/out to adjust for extra space if needed when the bonnet is closed.

Mine seems to be lining up as good as yours when I looked at it again. I did'nt need to shave any more off the corner either. Here's mine now & fairly straight. I thought it was supposed to be edge to edge instead of the big gap but yours is similar gap.

Thank you for the bung advice, I'll have a look tomorrow, sounds the answer.

My gap is like a piece of cheese, at a real angle, its doing my OCD in!!!

Well its supposed to CDO....., alphabetically in the right order, how they got it wrong god only knows.

cheers Ali

Seems they are out of stock of Genuine ones.

I got a cover from AliExpress, seemed fine. Didn't cut the bit on the right, instead a notch near the lefthand screw so it fits flush
