Top Engine Cover

Anybody got the top of engine cover fitted on their T6?

I tried fitting it with the fitting kit provided but there seems to be a big gap at the front when it's slotted into the rubber grommets at the back/top. If I align it at the front it doesn't stay on the grommets. It's about 20mm out/off at the front if I fully put it onto the rubber grommets. If I pull it forward it's off the grommets at the back.

Is there some thick rubber washer missing from my kit for the front left hole that I'm missing?

I test fitted my Genuine Vw one and it was spot on! It was so tight there was a bit of a knack to squeezing it in if I remember correctly.

Is this a genuine one?

Yeh. I have to drop the front of the cover below into the space in front of the engine first then slot it back up onto the grommets. It's tight on the slot in the grommets but doesn't seem to be wide enough to meet the front hole on the slam panel. I can move the washer bottle funnel so that is adjustable to align but the slam panel is fixed.

It's this one that I bought -> Genuine VW T6/T6.1 Engine Cover - Vee Dub Transporters which my understanding is that it is the genuine VW cover.

If you get a chance - what orientation are your rubber grommets at the top? I fitted them with the nut end downwards as the threads are only on the other end.
