Pipe in sliding door?

Took my sliding door panel off to fit some better insulation. Found a rubber pipe which seems anchored at the bottom but top part is loose. Is this meant to go anywhere?

There's no sliding window on that side. Presumably obsolete then?

It's not actually for the sliding window, it's normally attached to a catch 'tundish' for the door handle.



Without it, any water getting in via the door handle will be running down inside the door skin and collecting at the bottom of the door.

No idea tbh, it's incredibly hard to even see inside the door!

There’s a circular stub/hole on the bottom that it pushes onto
