As the thread suggests, we have some mortar bees entering a small hole in the mortar of a house we own.
Should we be dealing with them or just let them get on with it??

Cheers.

I'd suggest just leaving them alone.

They are very dosile, and extremely unlikely to sting. They also do very little harm to anything, and are useful polinators, so are good for the environment.

We have quite alot of bees at home........

About half a million at the moment.

The father in law used to keep bees, I’ve spent many interesting trips up to the moors with a series 3 Landrover full of hives (and bees). We used to spin around 1000-1250kg of honey a year by hand. I’v still got tea chests full of new jars in the shed that I need to clear out.

We spin off about 100kg a year, so a bit less than that!
