Persistent V-belt issues after 4 replacements

Hello,

I am having persistent issues with my V-belt. First one broke 4 months ago resulting in smoke in the cabin. After the replacement, the second one got burned soon as well, and got replaced with complete new set of bearings tensioner + + filling up the AC coolant that was very low.

Then a month later the 180A alternator gave up after 260 000km (I'm using a Renogy DC50S DC/DC charger btw) and got replaced.

4th time after ~5000km I started hearing squeaking noises and got it replaced in another well regarded shop stopping my vacation for a couple of days. All was good, but after a few thousand I'm hearing cricket-like squeaks again around and above 2000rev/min.

Any ideas? How can 2 garages be wrong? Am I doing something wrong? Setting up this thread to sum up the story so far.

While the belt should deal with the 180A alternator possibly the extra 50A DC/DC load is too much. Have you tried switching off the charger and seeing if the squeak stops?

Yes, unfortunately the squeaking doesn't stop when I switch off the charger. It was fine for a few thousand kilometres, and now it's back regardless of the load (no AC / turning AC fully on 4/4)

I'm wondering if that could be a belt misalignment issue, or what could be the one single culprit. The thing that was overlooked by all these attempts to fix it.

I have friends running the Renogy 50A charger with no issues even with the standard 140A alternator.
