Anyone else had this issue, pulled off the front wheel to change it and found the following on the cable running to the caliper. Thinking this is a warranty item?

Covered it with insulation tape for the time being as a temp fix but it is going to need to be replaced long term.

Its should be be clamped back well out the way of the wheel....

i thought the same but as far as i can tell it does not seem to have anything to hold it back, I checked on the driver side as well as this also does not seem to have any clip to hold the cable out the way (all be it a smaller cable on the driver side due to no brake pad wear sensor cable). Very strange setup to be honest unless something has fallen off my van, as you say Dellmassive would expect some kind of clip to hold it back.

VW view is this is not a warranty item, thought i have a feeling they did not really look at it that well, suggested that it might need to be replaced in the future but seeing as no warning lights are on it is not that critical, £180 for them to replace it so i assume the cable on its own is probably about £70. Looks like i will need to get the heat shrink out for the time being until I can afford to change it.

Same thing happened to mine, only just a slight break in the cable... anyone know the part number and how far back does it go behind the liner.?

Hi, did you find an answer to your question? I have the same issue, causing abs and traction lights. Thanks
