Painting The Lash Points In Rear Of Van

HI does anyone have suggestions for what kind of paint to use to restore these to original condition ?

Are they original? it looks like they were originally silver and someone has hand painted them black with something that didn't cover too well!.

I'd we tempted to remove them, key them back slightly with a wire brush and hit them with a coat or 2 of rattle can stone chip paint as its nice and hard wearing.

yes original its just been cleaned up with some gunk which has the side effect of actually dissolving the point !! LOL but anyhow ok sounds like a plan
