Paint work now fixed

Oh , and one thing to add. The number plates on my van from the dealer are metal and if you look at the closer pics of the rear you can see a line where the rear plate has been up against the paintwork rubbing the dirt in.

Its not only scratching it but the paint is starting to bubble. We sorted it by putting double sided tape on. Might be worth checking your own .

There is a paint guy in Knutsford who I am told is the dogs danglies - Cant remember his name but he is meant to be as good as it gets.

@_GB_ Now that's just showing off! It looks almost as good as mine does.

PS
Just needs that Gloss Blacking and the VW Splitter to finish it off now....;)

@PukkaT6 Maybe the same one. Does work for Porche, Ferrari ect, really is top bloke to deal with.

@Tourershine Ha Ha , I'd of liked to been able to take the credit for it but I doubt that I would of got the same results.

I've got to stop spending on it for a bit now. I've spent over 3.5k on it in only 4 months :speechless:, that might need some explaining to the accountant. Still not made my mind up on the front yet, the thought of keeping all that black paint looking fresh fills me with dread. Do like the look of the custom vans splitter tho.

He's give me some good tips on cleaning it. Obviously 2 buckets but snow foam and rinse , then snow foam again and wash it while the foam is still on to give a bit more lube.

@Polzeylad Agreed mate , when they want to charge premium prices for these vans this is how they should come.

It will be him, he did Pogba’s car after his brother got drunk and danced on its roof ha

It's talking to you... "please finish me @_GB_ My chin is soooooo cold and I look naked on my front....I'm so ashamed"

If it helps, it's actually much easier to keep all the Gloss Blacking cleaner, than the unpainted plastics from going dull.

That's one very expensive tub of wax! Results look superb, top job.

@Polzeylad Unfortunately, majority of all new vehicles will be presented to their new owners with multiple paint defects...regardless of the manufacturer or how much the vehicle cost. It's all about bottom line, cars start off life being poorly finished at the factories, then tightly packed in on the cheapest piece of land the dealership can get their hands on. The enter the sub-contracted valeter who works for the dealership. They're paid peanuts regardless if it's a service wash or a so called "paint seal protection package" offered by the salesman who you bought the car off. These valeters are generally untrained and will cut corners to meet the demands of the sales team. I'm called into a local (premium) main dealer on a regular basis to correct the paint many new cars. But this is only due to the customer noticing and understandably kicking up a fuss. I've witnessed valeters at a number of high end dealerships making fundamental errors whilst cleaning cars. I always recommend to my clients that they insist the vehicle is not prep'd by the dealership and that it comes straight to us, in order to save extra time and effort correcting paint defects caused by the dealership valeters.

I’m a bit of a detailing geek so check new cars very carefully; our Cali was remarkably well prepped but the BM needed a full roof repray; bought it brand new!

I've mentioned before on here, that I just insist anything of mine that's brand new, isn't touched by the dealers. (that includes any courtesy washes after warranty or service work) My T6 was terrible, and needed a lot of work before we sealed it. My previous Vivaro was actually much better, and the paint was far more robust. My Motorhome is full GRP, which tends not to swirl up anyway, but the acrylic windows will do very easily if the dealers use incorrect equipment. My wives Mini was used and actually really good, but then it is Cream and doesn't show the issues as bad as all my Black vehicles.
All our business 'Paint seal' work that comes to us (Caravan and Motorhome only, as that's what we specialise in) We always insist the dealers don't prep the exteriors, and leave everything for us, which is a much quicker job than fixing the issues potentially caused by the dealers.

My latest MK7 Golf which was only 12 months old when I purchased it from Sytner is in a shocking condition and looks like the previous owner used a scouring pad to wash it. This wasn't obvious when I glanced over it at point of sale, (outdoors and wet from rain, but I trusted it was fine from previous experience with Syter) but when pointed out to my salesman, they did offer to have the paint corrected for free, but I decided if they would allow a vehicle to come out of a dealership to a customer in that condition, that it was the last time i'd be using the dealership (that was the 7th car i'd purchased from that exact dealers, including 4 other BMWs) So it still sits looking awful, and I will get my own trusted detailer to rectify the issues.

Has anybody got the deets for this guy in Knutsford. Only around the corner from me. Might get it booked in. Cheers.
