Morning all,

2018 T6, had the engine warning light come on and read as this code (P24A8 - EGR Cooler Coolant Pump Performance/Stuck Off). Has anyone had any experience of this?

How did you get on with this Alex?

I have had this fault ongoing for 12 months now. There are 2 auxiliary coolant pumps both of which have been replaced twice. Van is back in with VW for the 5th time this year - I think they're stumped as to what to do next.

I think you need to take that van to a different garage......

Think you might be right. Extended warranty runs out next weekend so not sure what I can do after that. Have emailed VW Customer Care but no response!

Did you get to the bottom of this? Our 2016 66 plate t28 102 euro6 has just thrown up this tonight. I’ve been looking at the price of the parts. And I’m thinking it’s probably better to have the EGR mapped out!

is that possible on the euro6 engine? And would it save the faff on getting this repaired as from what I gather the egr system is just a nightmare

VW ended up changing the coolant bottle as they said sediment from bottom of bottle was getting into system and affecting auxiliary pumps. They also flushed the coolant system for the umpteenth time. Has been fine since they did this around Xmas.

Hi Alex,
I have got P023B and P24A9 low coolant flow errors.
Have you sorted your problem as it sounds similar?
cheers,
pete.

Just had this code appear on my 2017 T6 102. I cleared it and it came back within the hour, just cleared it again when parked at home, also I open the coolant and upon opening it a big burst air came out and the coolant bubbled over, seems like there was some pressure in there.

Could this be a blocked coolant pump? I had my whole EGR unit changed in June last year.

You will get pressure in the cooling system, if the cap is removed after being driven.

What could be the issue? I've read there is an electric pump aswell as the main Pump?

Any one fixed this issue?

I have an obd eleven adapter, could get report tomorrow. But will try get into a garage for proper diagnosis

If curious, could try to run Output Test and listen the whirr?

Is this all about this fault? No mileage, nor frequency counter?

Have you cleared the engine faults? (Fault mileages are very fresh)

Will do the output test tomorrow.

There is no mileage or frequency on my last scan report for that code, I have recently cleared in when pulled up at home. Will have a drive tomorrow to see if it returns.

Completed the output test for both the egr cooler pump which seemed to have a quiet wirrrrr sound, and the text for coolant pump for charge pressure cooler seem to have a normal pump sound.

After completing both tests I started the engine and now it seems to have another noise.

See video here.
