…day one with 307 miles clocked one horrible amber flashing coil light followed by the engine management light and the deathly limp mode We were up in the Scottish highlands!! VW called and they sent out a lovely AA chap who said first off diesel particle filter (not that light though!) but nope. Seems to be an EGR and showing a Generic fault code apparently. He did whatever he did and we made it the two hours home with no dash lights on. So - my totally uneducated self hopes it’s fixed but we called the VW dealership who say they can fit us in on 17th August!! Our long awaited 2 week holiday appears up the proverbial creek!! Any thoughts anyone?? (PS this forum saved my bacon yesterday as I could sound like I knew what the AA guy was on about!!) Thankyou all!!

What a shame you had troubles with your new van ... But the other way is your getting any problems ironed out in the early days.. if its running and fixed now why will it stop your long awaited holiday tell VW your on holiday then it might be fixed with nothing more to worry about you will just need to gain some confidence back in your Van ..

I’d be driving it to the nearest VW dealership and staying on the spot until it’s fixed.

If you're under VW warranty? then always insist on the VW Assist guy, not the regular AA, the Assist guys can expedite your visit to the dealer.

Ah thanks for that - but we broke down 24 hours ago and weren’t given an option but good advice thanks. Just looking like we have lost our holidays. Have cancelled this weeks sites bookings.
