Oryx White Paint Caravelle Exec Model Pricing

Hi guys an ladies. Having a few issues with a new caravelle from the dealer.
Decided on a pre built new order with lots of extras and had it for a good price, however after doing a little bit more research into the extras we are being charged for, it appeared advertised on the vw -vanU.K. Website the paint we picked Oryx White in deed turned out to be standard on the caravelle exec model but charged on SE model. We have the exec model, but we are being charged over £1200 for the paint. We have challenged this at dealer level and been fobbed off with a story that the Brand Support department have said this is an error and the information is pulling through from the German website, because it's is standard on exec model but in Germany. I pushed back to the local dealer and said this was not accurate at the website was .co.uk no .com or .de and that the prices were all GBP and quoted the 20%. VAT.

The dealer is pushing back but I am adamant that we shouldn't be paying for it. I have attached the pics below to evident our findings. Anyone had this problem? The missus is gonna call customer care in the morning but thought I'd ask the question just in case anyone else had the same problem or similar.

Our exec had oryx white as no cost option, ordered and delivered fox, thought it was a daft mistake but grateful to save £1200!

Legally depends on whether it's just a quote or have you placed the order, even so you have 7 days to cancel or threaten too!

Thanks.. Regardless we haven't signed on the dotted line so will be making another call tomorrow. Thanks, didn't think it was chargeable.

Someone else mentioned that it was previously a no cost option but now is a paid for one but cant remember where i saw that

Where are you getting it from and what discount are you getting?

Sinclair VW Cardiff. £6k roughly. But it's still advertised as a standard on he U.K. Website that why we are keen to pushback.

Feel free to quote me, VWCV at Birstall (Leeds) supplied my Exec in Oryx White as a no cost option, that was last Nov.

Further looking on the quote looks like we have been charged £212 plus vat for the standard 17inch Cascavel. When these are standard on exec?

Sounds like they are taking the P, i would get the sheet and ring a couple other dealers and read them the list and ask to come back with a price, see how it compares

Oh dear what are they doing? Diamond Black Cascavel are standard no cost on Exec.

Always keep calm @Gareth , being calm and calculated in what you say will always have a greater impact than getting worked up and frustrated , it's also a lot harder for anyone to wriggle out of things when you tell them where they've gone wrong in their paperwork.
That's the best thing about this forum, others who have ordered what your after and what they've paid for and what they've not....
Knowledge is power....

Well the wife called VW customer care and she was told as it was advertised as no charge on the exec model on the official VW site I should not pay, she relayed this to the local garage and they are still tying to get us to pay. Awaiting for a decision on Monday as the local garage issue is they have paid for the paint themselves at garage level. My missus said to them that's their issue to take up with VW and not us as customer. We won't be paying for it, now the customer care team has told us we shouldn't

I wouldn't deal with Sinclair Cardiff if my life depended on it after my dealings with them earlier this year. Thankfully it worked out in my favour in the end as I now have my new van via Sinclair Swansea who with the help of the dealer Rob that I dealt with were nothing but outstanding.
Cardiff took my order and said if I wanted any spec changes just let them know and they would amend accordingly. This I did and after a long story of trying to get a new confirmation email with the new spec to confirm the changes it turned out that they didn't do anything I ask them to do including making the necessary spec changes. Even escalated up to the branch manager to sort things out which still didn't end well so cancelled order and went to Swansea and what a world of difference. Stay clear if I was you, if they can't look after a new customer with nearly £40k what will they be like when or if something goes wrong.

Stand your ground about not paying, or simply take your business and money elsewhere.

Just had a quick look on the VW Config, for a Vel Exec; Oryx white is a £1062 option.
Re the discount; £5000-£6000 is a standard discount on that vehicle if you throw a few extras at it, for a bespoke factory build. Am I missing something??

My dealer said 10% on Caravelle/California and 12% or a bit more on vans/Kombi, however dealer stock is a whole new ball game, I took on a cancelled order, had fun negituating!
