Oil sensor warning

Had a quick search and thinking just a sensor/cable fault so as long as I check oil level it should be ok, got 2000 mile round trip on the 28th and not sure I can get it fixed. Would it be ok to take it?

I had an oil level senor warning come up on dash. Also didn't have oil temp reading. Turned out something had chewed through the cable. Managed to remove it and solder it.

The sensor is fixed to the bottom of the sump.
The cable on my van traced back up into the cab under the front passenger footwell. I had to remove seat and lift mat to gain access for repair.

Yeh

I’m pretty sure you can access from underneath as you can see part of its cabling through the sump guard.

I think someone got their head in for a nibble - arse!

Little update for people.
Apparently foxes hate Jeyes fluid according to one bloke who suffered the same.

Am going to give a little squirt under bonnet , on spare wheel and on part of heat shield to see if it helps. For a fiver is worth trying.
