As of this morning I am a VW Kombi owner elect.. Deposit paid and van on order. Only issue is that dealer has said that VW are advising of long delays for factory fit removable tow bars which I specifically wanted. He has suggested to get around problem and avoid any unnecessary delays, to order the van with tow bar prep only and they will fit the rest of the tow bar when the van arrives at the dealer? Does this sound sensible?? He assures me I wont see any difference and it will avoid extending the delivery lead time. The dealer said they will be using the same parts as the factory would. I will pay the same price as if factory ordered. Thoughts anyone?
Factory towbar prep puts all the wiring in the van and terminates at a plug in the rear of the van so all they have to do is remove the rear bumper and fit the towbar and plug in all the cables in the rear
