Newby adblue DPF questions

I've had my 2023 T6.1 150bhp for a couple of months and so far love it. Having never had a diesel with adblue I've got a couple of questions if i may to try and avoid any issues
1. How full should i keep the adblue tank, and am i correct in thinking after a top up to leave ignition on for 30 seconds before starting.
2. Most of my journeys are short but i do a 150 mile round trip every 2 weeks, is this enough long running for a regen and to avoid issues.
3. Bit of a how longs a piece of string question, but how often do regens happen and how long do they take, can you tell its happening so you can leave it running to finish

The DFP light is becoming a more apparent issue with modern diesel vans, unfortunately, it’s a fact of modern diesel life.

Diesel particulate filters (DPF) are very effective in cutting emissions, trapping even the finest soot particles produced as the engine burns diesel fuel.
Their lifespan is dependent on factors such as fuel quality, driving style, use and oil consumption. The filter uses a catalytic coating containing precious metals. Passive regeneration converts the particulate matter...

1. Wait until you get a warning on the MFD that will tell you the min/max amount to add. Never go above the max it tells you. You can do the 30 second ignition thing but I've found that doesn't always work and will update while driving anyway.
2. Makes no odds. It's almost inevitable that you'll do the 150 mile trip and the regen will start just as you're pulling up on the drive. Once a regen starts a drive with revs up around 2k will normally take 20 minutes to see the regen complete.
3. Depends on driving style and how old the DPF is. An older DPF will regen more. Generally anything between 100 and 300 miles. When the regen is taking place you can see the idle revs sit slightly higher at around 1100 instead of 800 when the van is stationary with clutch out.

Hi Paul, I also have a T6.1, the menu on the dash tells you how many miles until you need to fill and a maximum amount in gallons. but a word of caution, buy the larger cans and mark the amount needed, again the van will tell you how much. DO NOT OVER FILL. It will over flow all over the floor and it needs cleaning off immediately off paint work. I’ve never had to leave the ignition on, I believe in the past the reading after you’ve filled to the requires amount took some time to catch up.

Related question (24 plate 150 manual 6.1) bought it with 100 miles on it, showing 9,500 miles adblue remaining. Now on nearly 2000 miles, showing 11,000 miles adblue remaining. Haven't topped it up ...

I assume it's all normal and remaining range will start going down soon ... What's the maximum range it should show?

No - unfortunately there isn't a dash signal to show regen has started.
I purchased a 'thing' that sat in the OBD port that was supposed to beep and flash when it started - but that didn't work so got returned.
The only thing I found that works is a Carisa and the app open to show when the regen is working or what the soot level is (regen starts at 30g and burns to around 8 or 9g) - but there are various apps that do the same with something plugged into the OBD port.

Doesn't matter how you drive - still takes the same amount of time - at least it does on mine. (T6.1/22/DNAA)
