Newbie just bought a van!

Hey all, I'm new and just bought a converted T6. by 8 ball conversions.

Got a question on the timing belt, the previous owner said this was replaced in 2023 at 40k miles, it's now 58k miles.
Unfortunately the previous owner couldn't find any documentation the timing belt was changed, and the garage he used has changed systems so can't advise either way.
Is there anyway for a garage to see if it's been replaced? To be fair he did knock the price down to get a cambelt replacement. There's 1,500 miles to the next service, so I will be getting that done early.

Also, do you recommend a habitation check for the gas etc?

I've got lots to research...

Hi Jayzee and welcome , now there's one sure thing on this forum and you'll need to show us what you've bought (we all like pics) 🤓🍿.
Come on , don't be shy .

Hi and welcome. My advice is if you have no proof. Just get it changed. It’s the safest way. The regrets if it hasn’t been changed would be awful. Plus the peace of mind it brings is worth the expense.
