Looking for advice on buying a Volkswagen T6 with high mileage

Hi everyone,
I’m new to the forum and I’m currently looking into buying a Volkswagen T6 here in Germany. I searched through the threads, but I couldn’t find anything specifically related to the model I’m considering.

Here’s my situation:

The vans I’ve found all have the 75 kW (≈ 102 PS / 102 HP) diesel engine.

Mileage: they are all roughly between 190,000 km and 230,000 km.

They each have had only one previous owner.

Some of them have had the timing belt (“Zahnriemen”) already replaced, others haven’t.

So my questions are:

1. Is it okay to buy a van with that many kilometres? What risks should I be aware of?

2. What specific things should I check when inspecting a high-mileage T6 like this?

3. Regarding the timing belt: how critical is it if it hasn’t been replaced yet? Is it a deal-breaker?

4. Are there any known weak spots or maintenance items for the 75 kW diesel version in the T6 that I should ask about?

Thanks a lot in advance for any advice and guidance — I appreciate your help!

Personal opinion but something I learned a long time ago. Condition first, mileage second. It it looks good, drives good and service history shows its been well looked after. This has usually stood me in good stead. Sometimes I've even just relied on whether it looks & drives well.

Every vehicle deal is a good deal if the price is right.
By that I mean, if the price reflects the mileage, condition, spec, service history etc.
High mileage, alone, wouldn't put me off, if everything else is right, including the price.
