New T6 Owner Staffordshire

Hello everyone, I’m Paul, from Staffordshire, and have just purchased my very first van, a T6 factory Kombi. I have been after one of these for quite some time. So after some saving of the pennies, I finally got to get a T6. I got it from Salop Vans in Shrewsbury. They were a delight to deal with, they went above and beyond my expectations, so, I am a happy bunny. Only thing I want to do with it is take out the 2 seater seat in the front, and put in a captain seat. But, I have now seen how much they are, and some more saving is required. Great to join a community with such a wealth of knowledge.

Thank you Scotty. I was originally happy with the looks of the van, but I have now discovered the likes of Van Tech, Vee Dubs, Van Style and all of those other VW van websites that seem to be draining me of my money before I’ve even got it . I want to keep it clean looking, but add my own little touches to it. Looks like I’ll be doing more overtime to fund my new habit.

Thanks John, I was born and raised in Tunstall & Burslem, then moved to Stone for about 50 years.
Do you know of anyone local that can do the digital speed display coding? I think it’s VCDS they have to use.

Before you start spending on looks, you may want to take a drive at nighttime, once you do you will probably want to swap the H4 headlights for something decent.

I was kind of expecting them to be awful, as I did lots of research on T6 issues, but to be honest, I didn’t expect them to be as bad as they actually are. Might strap a couple of iPhones to the front and turn on the torch to see if that would be any better. Do you have any recommendations for the headlight upgrades?

Just to let you know that there are a few sets of what appear to be new and original Valeo H7 headlights on ebay at a good price of £143 each side inc free postage.

I have just bought a set.

I searched on Valeo 046714 (left) and 046715 (right)

Hi, has anyone fitted a set of these to there van? I see eBay is flooded with them at the moment at a tempting price, so wondered if they were any good

I suppose a small family run business in Shrewsbury is not at the top of their priorities. I think it looks good though, obviously, that’s my own opinion, others may differ.
