New T6 Owner /EBay advice?

Hi all
My first visit to a forum. I've just upgraded my old 08 plateT5 SWB to a 16 plate T6 SWB with a pop up roof. Both were surfbus conversions with the full width bed in the rear

Loved my old van and have driven it around Europe many times but due to starting a family we needed the extra sleeping space :)

Currently have my T5 on auto-trader but no interest yet, I wondered if anyone has ever sold a van on eBay or Gumtree and if so would you recommend it? I'm consious of not wanting to keep paying to many selling fees but do need to sell soon.

Any advice?

I sold my old E Class on Ebay no problem and my partner sold his vito no problem also, just luck of the draw if you manage to get a genuine buyer, same as Autotrader really .

Sold my T5 on eBay last week. I listed it in campers/motorhomes and paid for another listing in vans/pickups. The latter got more views and watchers. Be prepared for some tyre kickers and some silly offers. If the vans priced right it will sell. I got exactly the price I wanted, it sold within a week

I've sold vehicles on Ebay and had some great experiences sometimes, and on others come across some frickin idiots that must just spend all their time pi$$ing sellers off. Luck of the draw.

Cheers guys, did you pay a fixed price for the ad?
I've had a look and it's pretty confusing about whether it's a final value fee of 10% capped at £250 (no way id pay this) or a set fee for inserting the ad?

It’s £10 for the ad and 3% up to a max of £35 when you sell.

Just get a deposit through eBay/paypal then the rest through bank transfer/cash. Otherwise if you do it all through paypal you end up paying twice!

Definitely take a deposit, I wouldn’t take cash though unless your absolutely sure you could identify counterfeit notes. The safest way is to bank transfer and don’t hand anything over until you see the money in you account.

Good shout, my wife used to work in the pub industry and can count faster than I can spend (which is fast!) and is used to spotting fake money, if you are not confident you can then go the bank transfer route.

Cheers for the advice guys

Put my van on EBay sat night and by the morning it had more views than my 2 week old Auto Trader advert. I'd also had an email enquiry

No sale yet but had hundreds of views so fingers crossed

Mine sold in a day on e bay. I'd tried it on a fb forum initially, hoping it would go to someone who would appreciate it, but that quickly became quite a depressing experience, with offers to swap junk cars for it, and ridiculous comments.
