I recently got my Mobiframe bed back from the upholsterers, RNJ Upholstery. As they did on the front seats, they have made an amazing transformation to the rear bed/seats, all in black leather, thanks Rob and Jade!

After collecting the bed, I went down to Midland Campers and picked up the materials for the storage units, and went straight down to DX Camper vans in Bedfordshire, to make and install the kitchen(ish) storage and wiring.

Dale is a star, and we managed (with three long days) to design, make and install the furniture and most of the wiring. I have added a few pics but will post more when I can get round to it.

What 'kitchenish' bits are you having?

Looks great, by the way.

Spend the extra on a lithium battery and solar panel if you haven’t already
Will save you doing it anyway later
Hi, the "kitchenish" bits are a sink, which will need to be quite small but just for washing up etc. Then I already bought an Eco-Flow power supply unit, which runs a double induction hob, a toaster, a kettle and air fryer (not all at once of course!). I also purchased the Eco-Flow 220 Watt double-sided solar panels, they have a nice bag which comes with them and are portable, so when the sun moves you can adjust as necessary. I bought low wattage units as the total output is around 1600 watts, it all works fine and as I don't want a fish N chips van, we won't be cooking inside the van, just under the awning (or in a restaurant if I have my way!).

The great thing about the Eco-Flow stuff, is that you can move it around, so at home in a power cut, or camping etc, much more versatile than fixed equipment, plus you won't stink your lovely van out! :D

I’ve got a delta 2 that I use in conjunction with my big 230a lithium battery.
It’s a superb set up and Im confident I could live off grid indefinitely in it.
Have you thought about installing the 800w alternator charger for the EcoFlow?
It works very well
Have a search for the thread on it.

I haven't but I will look into it, thanks :D

What width is your bed?
The bed is 126cm, I had to make my own kitchen/storage area because of this. I think maybe some places offer something, but they're not very good IMO.

The smaller beds are okay for one or one adult and one child, but unless you're on honeymoon, I think the narrower beds are too small. :)

Yeah I’ve got a 130cm (technically but it measures more like 128) and planning “units” this winter.
From what info I’ve gathered I can just about squeeze slimline furniture in but in reality I think I’ll have to chop about 1-2cm off, was just going to follow the scribe line at the back.
Or I might go custom made.
Yours looks smart, might set a company on with it if I can bring my self to part with my money!

I like that Kitchen unit! Want to custom design the same for my van, did DX Camper vans design and build that kitchen?

Hi, yes, Dale is a friend of mine, I bought the materials and Dale and I talked about what I wanted and then we set about building it.
We worked for three long days and made it from scratch.
Dale is very particular, as I am, we measured the new seats and made sure that all the cupboards and storage areas are accessible (this only works with my Mobiframe seat/bed, as I can move it right forwards or right to the rear in order to access all the cupboards).

Dale is usually a one-man band, so he has limited availability, but I highly recommend his work.

Super thanks for the update. My setup is similar to yours with my Rock n Roll bed being on rails. I want to redesign my kitchen and need someone to help me draw up the fronts and assist with laser cutting - I will pick up the fronts and do the rest myself reason for this is I am in Switzerland and its just hard to find someone who can help on this side of the pond.

Try emailing Dale, he doesn't get back to you in 5 minutes as he's always busy, he might be able to help you or point you towards someone who can. :)
