So following changing our head unit to a Kenwood aftermarket unit we have quite a few faults related to not being able to communicate with the standard equipment! Do we just ignore these or should we be disabling something to prevent it trying to find the standard head unit?

Cheers

Is unit 5f and 37 missing communication by any chance? If so go to 19 gateway and In installation list u tick 5f and 37. Write coding and clear DTC codes all should be ok (5f and 37 based on discover media it will be different for different units). Have you got a full auto scan?

I believe we have! My mate is the man on the computer I’d blow the van up but we were sat looking at it and couldn’t get to the bottom of the faults with any other explanation than it must be just because we have an aftermarket HU we are gonna have another look at it tomorrow I’ll let you know how we get on! Cheers!!

Yes aftermarket headunit will throw some errors due to not seeing the factory unit on the CANbus network

Could this be a reason why the Instrument module isn't scanning up on VCDS? It's T6 2019 highline clocks, switching out to Digidash and bringing Android Dudu head unit along. The factory media unit was absolutely basic - no nav. Full scan doesn't get there, but I know its communicating into Gateway no problem. But since that's the first module up for scanning on a full I guess its hanging there.

Its scan in module number order and the clocks are 17, a missing module wont stop the scan from running

If your having probs i would start a new thread and post the complete scan (or whatever its outputting)
