Need Help guys! Sale of goods act

Id have dumped it back on the first say and escalated to small claims if he refused a refund. This fudge just undermines your own position if you find somthing serious wrong/expensive wrong.

If he gets away with it this time hell do it again, and next time it could be someones mum or gran and not a healthy adult male that isn't easily bamboozled.

My Gran would have chopped his nuts off by now and stuffed them down his throat.

What happened in the end @T6ChrisO ?
So, went ahead with replacing the spark plugs and that sorted the issue out. Took the car to a Fiat 500 specialist who looked over the car, took it out and said it was solid and performing as it should.

Issued a small claims court claim for the cost of the battery and heard back this morning that the defendant will pay (cost of battery plus claim fee of £35). Why of why do they have to do it the hard way when it costs them more ha ha.

A lovely negative review left on Google for the company yesterday to hopefully make others aware. Other reviews will be left elsewhere too.

We got off lightly compared to some other stories I have read and people I have talked too who are still dealing with issues/trading standard etc. Unfortunately nobody wants to listen or do anything (police aren't interested as its a civil matter)

Very glad it was a good outcome in the end.

They vendor is clearly a chump of the first water. If he'd stumped for the battery in the first place hed be £35 better off today.

I guess thats why he sells used cars instead of doing something like brain surgery or molecular biology.

Personally I'd have dumped the sae back on him and bent him over in court, but if you're happy with the outcome then thats all that matters.
