NEC visit in Feb?

So as a complete newbie to the wonderful world of camping, I was wondering on opinions for visiting the CC&M shown in Feb?

We should pick our new camper van up in 3 weeks and my thought process was to chuck a duvet in the back and just head up there to see what we can learn.

Can you pick up bargains or show deals? Or is it the complete opposite where everything is overpriced because of the footfall?

Did you guys live with your campers before deciding what to purchase, or go all out and buy everything you thought you needed?

I’m really interested in your stories and how you started out...

I'll be going to the show. Last year I found it a good mix of different things. I got to see awnings on display and real time layouts of the various options for VW.
Not only thing but I got to see more modification possibilities that can be taken from motorhomes and caravans (Solar, electrical tech etc).
As for bargain.. I managed to pick up a couple but would advise doing research on things that you know your after to compare

Went to the NEC show in the Autumn 2017 and there were many more VWs there than at previous shows, maybe a sign of folks 'down sizing'.

I was particularly looking to see who/what was being done with the new Crafter but only a couple on display.

Hi guys, the shows on for most of the week, not been before, any idea what the best day to go is? Looking for a Vango Airbeam Awning or similar.

Steve

Avoid the Friday, Saturday, Sunday if you can as they tend to be a lot busier with families. Get there for opening time if you can.

The full range of Vango air beams are ususlly there plus a good selection of others.

You may find some discounts but we’ve never seen any real bargains there - it’s the season opener and most people will have already offloaded their old stock and are showcasing the new season’s gear.

Good to see everything in one place though and do side by side comparisons plus find all the stuff you didn’t know you needed :)
