Near Side Front Speaker Crackle

Hi pards

So have a really annoying problem whenever I unlock the van and open any door and that’s a crackle from the near side front speaker.. however there isn’t any noise or crackle during playback when using the head unit. I’ve run a scan and it has said earth fault on front left.. now I may have accidentally blown the speaker but could this cause the crackle upon unlocking??

I have yet to take the door panel off and see if there is anything obvious.. any ideas??

I've known a door speaker terminal suffer from corrosion from water ingress and become loose

Hey @andys thanks for that.. I did wonder if that could cause a earth issue.. I’ll try and get the door panel off soon and see what’s lurking behind

The crackle maybe from the van testing the speaker on wakeup when unlocking.

If the ECM is reporting a short to earth on that speaker you need to take the door trim Off and investigate what's causing it.

Water intrusion as mentioned above and door loop cable damage are possible places to look.

Sounds like the main earth connection inside the door may be loose.
